Sausage Making and Whole Muscle Meat Curing with Meredith Leigh “Postponed due to COVID”

Learn about sausage-making and dry-curing from a nationally acclaimed butcher, teacher, local food activist, and author, Meredith Leigh. Our newest Create-a-Stir event is offered in partnership with Serenity Knoll Farm and is sure to please all who are interested in taking their charcuterie-making skills to another level—even if that level is beginning!

Meredith will provide demos on making fresh sausage and bacon, inspiring participants’ creativity and arming them with the skills to support local farmers and expand their enjoyment of local meat. We will explore the concept of ethical meat and farm-to-table eating through readings from Meredith’s books The Ethical Meat Handbook and Pure Charcuterie, and we’ll consider the opportunities and limitations faced by modern omnivores and locavores.

After the demos, we’ll have time for more discussion as we enjoy the sausages and additional local charcuterie, along with assorted local pickles and cheeses. BYOB!
